Academic Profile:
David Fletcher received both his BSc and PhD (Mathematics) from the University of Exeter, UK. He then spent thirteen years at the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority studying hypothetical severe accidents in nuclear reactors and the Chernobyl accident. He was one of the first users of the Computational Fluid Dynamics package CFDS-Flow3D, the forerunner of ANSYS CFX. In 1993 he migrated to Australia and after being associated with the University of Sydney in various capacities became an Adjunct Professor in 2008. He is involved with a broad spectrum of research projects with staff in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Civil Engineering and Pharmacy where he provides specialist CFD input.

Prospective Students:
Prospective PhD and Master by Research students wishing to work on Computational Fluid Dynamics may choose projects in the research areas of interest mentioned above. For specific project details, please contact Professor David Fletcher. For application details and scholarship opportunities, please refer to the postgraduate pages on this website.
Consulting Interests:
I consult on a wide range of applications of Computational Fluid Dynamics and I am always interested to discuss how I can assist you with modelling. I have spent 30 years doing CFD simulations using mostly the ANSYS CFX and Fluent software packages so have a wealth of experience.
