Rheology Solutions Prize for best student presentations (sponsored by Rheology Solutions Pty Ltd). A panel of judges will attend all student talks and posters, and prizes will be presented by Mr Pat Griffin (Rheology Solutions) at the Closing Ceremony 11am Wednesday 4 Nov.

FORMAT OF PRESENTATIONS:

Oral Presentations – A PC (Windows OS) with Microsoft Powerpoint software will be provided. If at all possible, presenters are urged to use this PC – please upload and test your presentations well in advance of your talk (eg during coffee and lunch sessions). An LCD Projector will be set up in each room. Any presenters who need to use an “overhead projector” (ie using plastic transparency (overhead) sheets) must contact Howard See (chair) well in advance please email: .


Posters - Each presenter will have a board of size 175cm (height) by 115cm (width). We will provide Velcro etc to enable attachment of your poster sheet(s) to the board.

SPECIAL ISSUE OF THE KOREA-AUSTRALIA RHEOLOGY JOURNAL :

The journal editors, Prof. Hyungsu Kim and Prof. Ravi Prakash Jagadeeshan, ask for prepared manuscripts to be brought to the conference please, if at all possible. If you are doing this, please advise Prof. Jagadeeshan beforehand email: . Information on manuscript preparation can be found at the journal website http://www.rheology.or.kr/karj/karj.htm. The journal will also accept submissions after the conference for the special issue – a deadline will be announced later.

Conference Reception (Sunday, 1 Nov, 6pm) and Excursion (Wednesday, 4 Nov, 11:30am to 5pm)

If any delegates will definitely NOT be able to attend the 1 Nov Reception at the Nicholson Museum in the University of Sydney (downloadable map above), could they please inform the conference chair Associate Professor Howard See email: . This will help us with our catering arrangements. Similarly, could delegates who unfortunately cannot take part in the 4 Nov excursion (due to early departure of a flight, for example) please let us know. More details on the excursion below. Many thanks in advance.

Conference excursion (Wednesday 4 November)

Delegates will take a bus tour of the scenic Sydney Harbour foreshore and Manly, as well as lunch on board a cruise boat on the Harbour.

The buses will depart the conference venue at 11:30am so please bring your cameras etc with you to the venue on Wednesday morning (a light jacket may also be a good idea). The buses will return to the conference venue and to Rydges Camperdown Hotel at approximately 5pm.


REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
The registration is now open for the 5th Australian-Korean Rheology Conference. All participants are required to fill out the Registration Form. You should also complete a Payment Form (a pdf file). For registration fees please refer to the table below. Your registration is not officially confirmed until we receive payment of the amount due. Your invoice/receipt will be e-mailed or faxed to you within several days of receipt of your registration. No shows, late arrivals, missed meals and early departures cannot receive fee adjustments.

Payment must be made by credit card (Visa or Mastercard), cheque or money order drawn on an Australian bank in Australian dollars, payable to the University of Sydney. If you are planning to make payment by wire transfer, please contact rconnell@usyd.edu.au for the bank information. You must add A$20 to cover our bank charges. Please reference your full name and the conference title. Fax a copy of your bank transfer papers with your Payment Form.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation must be received by us in writing one month before the start of the conference in order for any amount of refund to be issued. All cancellations before 1 Oct 2009 are subject to a $200 cancellation fee. There will be no refund for cancellations made after 1 Oct 2009.

1- Complete the Registration Form and return by email attachment to ahmadj@aeromech.usyd.edu.au. Please include in the subject line “REGISTRATION-5th Australian-Korean Rheology Conference”.
2- Complete the Payment Form (a pdf file). Return by FAX, email or mail as instructed in the form. (Do not send this with your Registration form).
