International Exchange Programs
The School offers exchanges with institutions in Sweden, Scotland, England, Hong Kong and Singapore
MIPPS (Major Industrial Project Placement Scholarship)
This popular scheme offers the School's top third year students the chance to spend 6 months of their 4th year working full time in an industrial placement. Typically, the placement starts in January and ends in July. Each year, early in semester 2, announcements are made to the third year students, calling on interested students to apply for the program. Interviews with potential MIPPS scholars are held in the middle of semester 2.

Scholarships and Prizes
A number of scholarships and prizes are available to local and overseas Chemical Engineering students. Please contact the School directly for more information.
4th year Thesis (CHNG4801 and CHNG4805)
Students in their fourth or final year are expected to complete a thesis on a specified research topic. The thesis needs to be delivered typed and bound and students are also expected to present a seminar and present a poster explaining the aims and achievements of their thesis.
If you will be doing thesis in a given year, you will need to submit your top 10 thesis preferences, including the thesis topic number and thesis number by early March (the exact deadline will be announced well in advance). Please read carefully the guidelines when preparing your preferences list. To submit your preferences, please hand over your list of thesis preferences to administrative staff in the general office - do not leave them unattended, in pigeonholes or under anybody's door.
A compulsory thesis briefing is held mid-March (the exact date will be announced well in advance). All students writing a thesis must attend this session.
